RMR-style: Very common for pistol micro-dots; multiple manufacturers produce optics compatible with this pattern. RMSc / Shield-style: Common on micro-compacts and slim pistols; popular for concealed carry. RMSc & RMS share hole spacing; adapters often cross-fit. Docter / European footprints: Legacy European style used on some optics and pistol cuts.

RMSc became the go-to for many slimline pistols (for example, Hellcat OSP and several P365 variants). Verify if it’s true RMSc or a modified RMSc and whether a spacer/plate is recommended.

Direct mount: lowest height, strongest interface, fewer parts. Plate: flexible — one slide can accept multiple footprints via plates (e.g., Glock MOS). Slight height/weight penalty.

Q: Can I mix an RMSc optic on an RMR plate? A: Not without a purpose-built adapter—hole spacing and lugs differ. Use an adapter designed for that pairing.
